Quantum Apprentice Set On His HNC

As part of apprenticeship week, we’ve been interviewing some of our apprentices who work with us here at Quantum.  From office based roles, to panel designers and engineers we offer a variety of roles where staff can come in an earn whilst they learn their selected discipline.

Ryley is one of our apprentice engineers who is based in Prudhoe, ‘I’ve been at Quantum since August 2021 and I really like the way it gives me practical experience and on the job training.  I’ve always wanted to become an Engineer so I did some research about Quantum and thought it may be a good fit for me.  When I got the opportunity to come in I really liked the facilities they had and the staff were really experienced and helpful, so I was happy when they offered me the apprenticeship.’

Since starting at Quantum Ryley has learned how to use a wide range of tools and how to keep safe whilst using them.  He’s also learned how to safely power up and test Variable Speed Drives.  Challenges for Ryley include learning how to re-wire control cables for control panels, ‘It can be daunting at first but someone is always there to ask if you need help, and like anything the more you do it, the better you become.

In the future Ryley hopes to become qualified in good time and wants to go on to complete his HNC.
