Our OneCall contract customer, RPC-BPI Recycled Products located in Scotland called us when one of their Variable Speed Drives had broken down.
As a OneCall contract customer, our customers get direct access to our fully qualified engineers and immediate engineers to site. We sent out our engineer, John who attended site within hours.
Our Solution
After following the companies’ health and safety policies to get on site he carefully inspected the Drive and found it would not be possible to repair it on-site. We guarantee a first fix solution to all of our contract customers, and as such John called our offices to dispatch a like-for-like VSD from our fleet of over 2,500 drives. Weather-proof and fully serviced, our drive is available for short-term use or long-term hire if an organisation cannot afford to replace or repair their existing drive.
Whilst the hire drive was in transit our engineer removed the broken VSD and prepared the area for the hire drive coming in by pulling in power, motor and signal cables. The broken VSD was transported to our state-of-the-art testing and repair facility where it was fully inspected by our drive engineers, who then provided a quote and a list of parts needed to fix the drive, all this was completed within 24 hours of its delivery.
Our hire drive arrived within 12 hours and our engineer installed this, uploaded our customer’s parameters, and carried out standstill testing. Once the engineer was happy with the drive installation, he reported to the customer and was relived from the site.

While our hire drive is installed, we will carry out all maintenance and 24/7 repairs as part of the rental agreement.
