Which Drive Manufacturer has the Best Drive for Energy Saving?

We often get asked by our customers, ‘Which manufacturer has the best drive for saving energy?’  We’ve heard of many of our customers who are getting visits from salespeople promising a different manufacturer’s drives will save more energy than a new drive from a different manufacturer, but we are here to tell you what they won’t……

All modern drives save energy!

This is based on the changes to the application process, not because of the VSD, a fan with reduced speed by changing pulley dimensions would have the same efficiency savings as the same speed reduction with a VSD, (however it would be fixed at that point and will have other mechanical considerations).

When it comes to LV drives, there is no real difference in running costs through drive losses, the whole range of different manufacturers generally varies by less than 1% in running efficiencies.

The difference in brand of manufacturing type only provides; initial costs, physical size, build quality, internal EMC and harmonic filter quality, ease of use, reliability, and available functionality, all of which is down the customers preference.
